With almost eight yards of luxurious double face duchess satin and a dramatically boned silk velvet bodice, this gown is comparable in weight, silhouette and construction to the couture gowns produced by Maison Dior at the very same time. And no wonder: its original owner was a personal friend of Monsieur Dior himself.

2-tone ball gown with candlelight silver skirt and strapless charcoal silk velvet bodice. Bodice features 6 lightly boned stays and stand-away "S-curve" bustline; rear metal zipper closure with interior grosgrain ribbon hook and eye at rear waist and upper back. Heavyweight double-face duchess satin skirt is cut on bias for extreme fullness. Bodice lined in ivory net; skirt unlined. Hanging straps attached by pins to interior bodice.
