Though Chanel made its name on the lean drop waist dress suits of the 1920s, the brand has also produced garments that break their traditional mold and yet remain unmistakably "Chanel." This suit is one of them. Its sculpted jacket and rich fabric are instantly recognizable as the Mademoiselle's, but the irreverent skirt resembles a ballerina tutu complete with frothy layers of tulle.

Navy blue and black bouclé skirt suit with tulle ruffles at collar edge and built-in ruffled tulle crinoline beneath skirt. Sculpted jacket features single black laser-etch “quilted” button plus two covered snaps at waist, black rhinestone interlocking “C” logo at left hip and chain-weighted hem. Skirt features plain waistband with matching black rhinestone logo at left hip and deep pleating around full circumference; hidden rear nylon zipper and top double snap/double hook and eye closure. Built-in crinoline moves independently from skirt, and its ruffles hang beneath skirt edge. Jacket and skirt waistband lined in navy camellia silk.
