Worn by a well-to-do young Parisian at her debutante ball, for which she attended a pre-party on a Seine-docked yacht before appearing at the Palais Garnier. As her multicultural parents were personal friends of messieurs Dior and Fath, her evening wear was typically made by the couturiers employed at their ateliers with fabric sourced from their personal weavers.
Featuring a convertible halter-to-strapless neckline, ultra-feminine petal bust and corded exterior hoop, this gown undoubtedly made an unforgettable impression...but we are left wondering how she boarded the ship inside a 22-foot skirt.

Halter-style evening gown with petal bustline and flexible boning at front and rear bodice. Massive full skirt with double self cords at mid-thigh, creating a flexible exterior hoop effect and substantial fullness even without a petticoat. Micro pintucks around full circumference of skirt beneath lowermost cord; side metal zipper closure with top hook and eye. Halter neck strap may be tucked inside bodice for strapless styling; unlined.
