Once used to adorn the clothes of Indian royalty, zardozi (sometimes called "zari") is an intricate embroidery technique that uses metal wire in place of thread or yarn. Unusual in its use of zardozi on both the front and the back of the handbag, this purse is made even more remarkable by its liberal application of lapis lazuli inlay on both sides. A work of art.
