1960s peppermint lounge a-line wedding dress, s

Celebrities from Marilyn Monroe to Liberace swarmed New York’s Peppermint Lounge to dance the “twist” in 1961. If Lounge-devotee Jacqueline Kennedy had been married only eight years later, we imagine she would have rented it for the reception. (But she’d have had to fight Truman Capote for the gown.)

Ivory sleeveless bateau neck gown with low scooping back and corded empire waist; A-line maxi cut. Full-length rear buttoning closure with 13 decorative self bows down full length of back; hook and loop closures at rear top and rear empire waist, plus snap at bottom. Fully lined in ivory silk.
