1940s v-j day double peplum skirt suit, m

This suit drips with so many thoughtful details (architectural seams, notched peplums and belted back, to name a few) that its impossible to catch them all in a single glance. Dont be surprised if a sailor kisses you on the street.

Skirt cut in gentle A-line with front and back hip darts and 8 rear kick pleat; side metal zipper closure with button tab. Skirt back lined in acetate. Rounded notch collar jacket whose princess seams and dolman sleeves create an inverted V seam at front panels. Double peplum with rounded notches and triple inverted pleat back with rear buttoning self belt. Button tab cuffs and 4 covered front buttons with finished buttonholes; padded shoulders. Fully lined in silk crepe.
